Well, my 4 year old Pharos GPS solution still works.  Last year I added a Seidio powered mount that attaches to the windshield, and that brought a new level of utility to the combo unit.

At any rate, my login at the Pharos support site still worked and I was able to download one of the maps I needed.  Seems I missed one of them a year ago when I downloaded the latest versions.

What I like about the configuration I have, is that its a modular system, I’ve swapped two PDAs with the same GPS unit, and several software upgrades during the last several years.  Odds are that I’ll replace the combo with a true all in one navigation solution in the next year, simply because they are finally at the point where the PDA, GPS, Software solution was 4 years ago.  Though the PDA based solution is still cheaper.

The real benefit to the current crop of navigators is that they are starting to specialize, high-end, low-end, automobile, marine, personal handheld, and recently motorcycle focused solutions.  Cool stuff!
