Engadget Mobile is reporting that several carriers are coming together to create a 4G working group. The founding members KPN Mobile, Orange, Sprint Nextel, Vodafone, T-Mobile with cooperation from China Mobile and NTT DoCoMo will name the group “Next Generation Mobile Networks“.
One of their targeted goals is to begin commercial deployment of 4G devices in the 2010 timeframe. Engadget mentions 2.5Gbps speeds from some related 4G testing, but if history proves correct - I’ll be happy if they deliver 100Mbps service!
